Does my cabling have to be EuroClass compliant?

Does your cabling need to be Euroclass compliant?

If the cabling is for a new building, a refurbishment, extension or a public building, subject to the Construction Product Regulations then, since 1st January 2019, the data cabling should be EuroClass Cca as a minimum in order to comply with the BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring regulations and BS6701 Standard for telecommunications systems.

The regulations may not be law but, in any dispute or investigation, they will be called upon.

If you would like further clarification on CPR and Euroclasses then you can read the FIA’s ‘Clarification regarding fire performance requirements BS 7671 and BS 6701’.
